Promoting Quality and Sustainability in Apiculture

The workshop was inaugurated by Sri. Saji John, Director, Kerala State Horticulture Mission. It featured valuable insights from distinguished experts including Dr. T.P. Rajendran (ICAR), Dr. Jacob John (Kerala Agricultural University), Dr. Reshma (NIST), Dr. Arthur Jacob (YMCA), and Siji Nair (Metro Media), who addressed various aspects of apiculture, quality standards, and market potential.

Honey as a Healthier Alternative

In his address, Dr. Sureshkumar C highlighted the significant potential of honey as a healthier alternative to refined sugar. He emphasised that promoting honey as a viable substitute requires a comprehensive approach, including increased production, strict adherence to quality standards, and greater awareness on responsible consumption.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers, scientists, and industry experts, reflecting a shared commitment to building a sustainable and profitable apiculture sector.
