ANANTHAPURI 5000 is a pioneering rural entrepreneurship programme to create 5,000 grassroots entrepreneurial units across Thiruvananthapuram district under the guidance of CISSA. Implemented through 10 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), the initiative aims to stimulate inclusive, sustainable economic activity at the Panchayat and Ward levels.

District Agricultural Entrepreneurship Mission

  • Ananthapuri 5000 is a joint initiative by CISSA and 10 FPOS.
  • It aims to set up 5000 rural enterprises in Thiruvananthapuram within 5 months.
  • Connects farmers with government schemes for support.
  • Covers agriculture, allied, and non-agricultural sectors.
  • Boosts rural entrepreneurship and local economy.

Project Details & Implementation

  • Bridging the gap with government schemes. The project aims to connect government initiatives directly with farmers for improved reach and benefits.
  • Supporting farmers to become entrepreneurs by providing assistance and arranging loans across diverse sectors, including food, agriculture-allied, and non-agricultural enterprises.
  • Supported by key government schemes

    Uses schemes such as AIF, PMFME, PMEGP, KCC, and Mudra Loans to provide financial and resource aid to farmers.

Modus Operandi

  • Committees formed in each panchayat (10+ members)
  • Each ward to identify 5 eligible beneficiaries
  • Minimum 100 beneficiaries per panchayat
  • Entrepreneurship workshops with banks, Krishi Bhavans, industry officials
  • Guidance on loans, schemes & business setup
